About HR Jungle Solutions

HR Jungle was founded in 2006 by C.J. Westrick to provide human resources services to small companies. Eventually, we realized size wasn't the common factor of our clients... it's that most of our clients don't need full-time internal HR but want senior level expertise, regardless of size.

After 10 years, we realized the need to expand our services to offer even more to our clients. Where before we provided workable solutions and hands-on assistance with your HR, we now can help you in more areas. We've merged with Executive Workforce Consultants and added assessments, executive recruiting, executive coaching, compensation data, outplacement (assistance to terminating employees), and project management using Lean and Six Sigma strategies to improve your processes and workflows. This merger expanded our services so we felt the name also needed to expand ... to HR Jungle Solutions.

Human resources is a field that requires constant education and the ability to manage change. Every year more state and Federal employment laws are introduced. Human resources professionals must understand, implement, and explain these laws to ensure compliance and to understand the latest best practices. Networking with other professionals, continuing education in our fields, being an active member of relevant associations, and obtaining and maintaining professional certifications are methods our staff has used to keep their knowledge up-to-date.

C.J. Westrick, SPHR, Founder and Senior Partner

C.J. has been involved in human resources management and consulting since 1990. She has a bachelor's degree in business management and has had her SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) national certification since 2002. People often ask what the SPHR means and it's easiest to say it is the HR equivalent of an accountant's CPA. This certification provides you with the confidence that C.J. has successfully proven her HR knowledge and must continue to learn to maintain the certification. According to a 2009 article, less than 5% of the approximately 820,000 HR professionals in the United States are SPHR-certified.

Her experience is very hands-on, so any suggestions or opinions offered on this website or in anything she writes is based on practical experience and use. She has built HR departments from nothing and improved processes in other companies. Having worked inside both mid-size (1,750 employees) and small companies (25+ employees), C.J. can honestly say that she has experience in all aspects of human resources. As a consultant, C.J. has had the pleasure of working with numerous industries. This has enhanced her knowledge and ability to provide creative solutions for clients. The combination of C.J.'s knowledge of business and her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration gives her the ability to provide creative and workable solutions for clients.

Michael Soler, MS, BPM, Partner

Mike provides expertise in C-Suite Coaching, Project Management, Lean Six Sigma / BPM Process Improvement, Talent Acquisition (Search) and Rising Star Leadership Services. He has created Search and Career Service Partnerships and is the subject matter expert (SME) for AEC, Banking and Financial Services, Government, Healthcare, and Professional / Legal Services industries.

His certifications and training includes Business Process Management (BPM), Black Belt Six Sigma Methodology (BBSSM), Personal Directions and 360 Leadership Effective Analysis (LEA), Profiles International's 360 and XT (Job Match Tool) and DiSC Everything for Workplace, of Leaders and Sales also used for selection, development and workforce resource management.

Soler had been President and Managing Partner of Executive Workforce Consultants, Inc. since 2007. Prior to 2000, Michael was Managing Principal of the Human Capital Division of DeFrain Mayer's (J.P. Morgan) Human Resources and Actuarial Services. Previously, Mr. Soler was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Lee Hecht Harrison, a subsidiary of Adecco. He launched St. Louis and Kansas City offices. He participated in corporate-wide leadership teams for growth and product development in Executive Business Coaching and Technology Services. He held a staff and faculty position with Washington University in St. Louis. Mr. Soler created the career service internship programs for the schools of Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering and at the Washington University Medical Center. Previously, he wrote landmark legislation for the Older American Act on Healthcare and nutrition reform while on Capital Hill with the US Congress.

He received his Masters at the University of Missouri with honors, Graduate City Planning and Management at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Santa Barbara.Mr. Soler is a member and former Vice President of the Human Resources Management Association. He currently serves on numerous philanthopic, economic and community development boards. He has been a Planning Commissioner since 2010.
